CSA COUNSELLING SERVICE


health in mind's Counselling Service offers skilled counselling to people wishing to address issues of childhood sexual abuse.

The service operates a strict code of confidentiality and abides by the BACP Code of Ethics and Practice. We also ensure that clients have regular opportunities to offer feedback on the quality of the service and suggestions as to how it should best develop.

Three types of service are offered

 

  • Time limited counselling  -  12 sessions only  -  financial contributions welcomed  -  waiting list is usually less than five months
  • Counselling where the timing is determined by you and your counsellor  -  financial contributions welcomed  -  there is a limited waiting list and you may have to wait quite a long time
  • Full cost counselling where the timing is determined by you and your counsellor  -  cost is £40 per session  -  much shorter waiting list, usually 6 weeks or less

 

Counselling is…

  • A confidential space where it is safe to talk through what is troubling you in your life
  • Someone to carefully listen to you and help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and difficulties
  • Support to make your own decisions about your lif e an d what is best for you
  • Individual to you. People come to counselling with their own needs and with their own way of developing their understanding of themselves

 

Counselling Team

  • The service is provided by counsellors who are carefully recruited to work with the service and who possess the necessary skills and training.
  • The counsellors receive group supervision and on going training to maintain and develop the quality of their practise. Counsellors are also able to access individual supervision where necessary.

 

How To Apply For A Service

If you think you may benefit from the Counselling Service please contact us on 0131 225 8508, and you will be put through to a member of the Counselling team.

You will be offered an appointment to meet with us to hear more about how we work and to explore whether it feels the right kind of service for you.

If after this meeting it is felt that you may benefit from the service you will be placed on our waiting list and allocated a counsellor as soon as we are able to.
